Tips for Using Our Self-Help Browser
- The information you'll get from this browser comes from our MLS data base, and it's in real time. So it's complete, every listing is presented impartially, and the data available is as complete as rules will allow. It's intended to be the best available tool on the internet. But these tips will enhance your efficiency.
- This program accesses "active" listings only. If it's not here, it's not an "active and available" listing. If it disappears, it means it's no longer "active". A few "actives" could be false, if notification of "pending" status is delayed by the listing agency.
And then, these other hints for easier use:
Whenever you put in a "low", also put in a "high", or a "+" sign.
Generally, minimize your input data and keep your sorts broad.
Don't sort for things not critical; leave as many areas blank as possible.
And this is important: Sort by high school district whenever possible (instead of individual cities.) That's because it first of all picks up homes on the edge of a district that actually have another city's address, which would be missed with a city search. Then, many of our most targeted High Schools serve more than one important city, which would require two separate city searches otherwise. Here they are:
Edwardsville High School serves Edwardsville and Glen Carbon O'Fallon High School serves O'Fallon and Shiloh Collinsville includes Collinsville, Maryville and Caseyville
Belleville East includes Swansea and part of Fairview Heights Belleville West includes Millstadt and part of Fairview Heights Alton includes Godfrey Triad includes Troy, St. Jacob and Marine
Wesclin serves New Baden, Breese, Trenton and Germantown
Avoid sorting for grade schools or junior highs ... incomplete input data is common, which means missed options.
This program won't sort for some important criteria, like basements and garages. But the detail will still be on the data pages.
If you want more information on any listing, please call us and we'll get it for you.
To make the most of this "self-sort", we'll need to become a partnership of sorts ... you'll still need us for detail, for analysis and for neighborhood criteria:
Simply send us the MLS numbers and we'll quickly respond. There's a place to do that right on the results page...or...
